Cleaning the cleaning equipment
What is the point of cleaning when the products or equipment in which we are using to clean, isn’t clean itself? Products and equipment that we use to clean on a regular basis indeed wears down and gets dirty quickly. Let us make sure the stuff we are using to clean our house is clean.

Kitchen sponge
Your sponge is probably the most consistently used piece of cleaning equipment in your house. Every dish, every glass, every pot, every pan, all the way down to the silverware has probably been cleaned by that sponge. We need to make sure that our sponge is indeed clean itself. Sponges can accumulate bacteria quickly, which leads them to stink and fall apart. It is good practice to replace your kitchen sponge every 2-3 weeks to ensure that you are cleaning with a clean product. Sponges are relatively cheap and it doesn’t take more than a few dollars to replace. We don’t want to be putting more harmful bacteria on the plates and cookware that we use on a frequent basis.
Toilet bowl brush cleaner and holder
The toilet bowl brush possibly can have the most germs and bacteria in your home. This tool is used to clean off the germs and bacteria in your toilet and usually gets placed right back in the holder, creating a new home for these germs to live and spread. To clean the toilet bowl brush, rinse the brush under flushing water from the toilet, thus rinsing away the bacteria that was on it. Then close the toilet lid on the brush, allowing the brush to drip dry before placing it back into the holder. Another trick is washing and scrubbing your brush with white vinegar to clean it from bacteria.

Cleaning your dishwasher
This powerful piece of machinery might be one of the most used appliances in your house. It has cleaned wine stains on glasses to messy thanksgiving plates. Water sediments can break and slow down this vital machine. Let’s make sure that we are cleaning the very machine that cleans all of the plates and silverware that we use to eat. One of the best ways to clean this is to place about a quart of vinegar in a cup on the top rack and run a hot cycle. Another trick is to put baking soda in the tab compartment and running it for half a cycle. These tips can help clean the very machine that cleans all your plates, glasses, and silverware that are used on a frequent basis.
