Step Into Fall, Clean and All

Summer is officially over. We can finally close the windows on the house and take advantage of the cooler temperatures to do some much needed Fall cleaning. The Holidays are right around the corner and your husband wants a big Christmas this year. Therefore he wants to host the whole family this year at your house. It’s time to store off the summer and welcome fall with a clean home.

Store off the summer

Going through and storing off summer clothes and accessories will give you more room in your closets and coat racks for your fall and winter jackets and gear. This includes cleaning out the garage and storing off the kayaks, mountain bikes, and other summer gear. This is also a perfect opportunity to throw away or donate some old clothes or items that you don’t need anymore. Those tee-shirts with paint on them from when you painted the living room in June, trash them. The summer clothes that your kids grew out of and don’t wear anymore, donate them and let us get those clothes to someone in need. This is the best way to make space in your home.

Deep clean

With the windows and the sliding door being left open all summer, tons of germs, dust, dirt, pollen, and everything under the sun has probably made its way into your home. Deep cleaning each room in your house will get you ready for everything from hosting guests for the holidays to being comfortable cozying up in the living room, watching a Christmas movie with the whole family.

Winterize the house

Temperatures are dropping, which means it is time to switch out the thin sheets for the thick ones and to get out the blankets. Take out the electric blankets and make them with the beds. Get the space heater that has been sitting in the closet for the last 4 months and dust it off.

Spruce up

Now that we are all cleaned up from the summer, we are finally ready to bring in the fall into our house. Nothing says fall like mini pumpkins on your porch, fall scented candles in the living room and dining table, and enjoying some hot cider in your newly clean home!
